Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic trainers can benefit from learning more about indications for musculoskeletal ultrasound. Ultrasound is accurate, fast, and affordable with comparable and many times better accuracy than MRI for certain indications and when patients can not have open MRI/MRI, or other imaging due to limitations.
- MSK ultrasound can be utilized for diagnosis of arthritis, nerve injuries or entrapments, hernias, foreign bodies, rotator cuff tears and tears of tendons, ligaments, in the wrist, hand, ankle, foot, elbow just to name a few.
